The Health Care Association of Nepal (HCAN), established in 2023 AD, is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving public health in Nepal. Our focus is on addressing the growing burden of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), diabetes, hypertension, and cancer, with a particular emphasis on breast cancer. Through community-based interventions, early detection programs, and health education campaigns, HCAN is committed to raising awareness and improving healthcare access, especially in rural and underserved areas like Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Kalikot districts.

HCAN’s research and vision aim to reduce the impact of NCDs by developing evidence-based strategies for prevention, early intervention, and treatment. Our research focuses on understanding the prevalence and risk factors for NCDs, as well as the barriers to healthcare in rural communities. For breast cancer, we are focused on improving early detection and raising
awareness through screening camps and educational outreach. We are also dedicated to addressing mental health challenges in marginalized communities, such as deaf youth, through our Mental Health Enhancement for Deaf Youth (MHEDOY) program, which provides support and education tailored to their specific needs.

HCAN envisions a healthier Nepal where communities are equipped with the knowledge and resources to prevent, detect, and manage NCDs and cancer. Through research, community outreach, and partnerships with global institutions, we strive to improve the health and well-being of all Nepali citizens.
