8 billion reasons to act on Obesity

The 8 Billion Reasons to Act on Obesity project aimed to prevent and promote the early detection of obesity and related non-communicable diseases through community-based health screening, school health and nutrition programs, youth capacity building, digital awareness campaigns, technical consultations, and public health education. Implemented in collaboration with local stakeholders, the project strengthened community awareness, promoted healthy lifestyle practices, and enhanced the capacity of youth leaders to support obesity prevention initiatives. Through health screenings, school interventions, and widespread awareness activities, the project contributed to the early identification of individuals at risk, encouraged healthier dietary and physical activity behaviors, fostered healthier school environments, and strengthened community engagement in obesity prevention and health promotion.
