Deaf role model capacity building training for peer support

HCAN supported a three-day Capacity Building Training for Deaf Role Models to strengthen their facilitation, communication, empathy, and peer-support skills. The training aimed to prepare Deaf Role Models to support school health and community sensitization activities, especially for persons with hearing disabilities
The training aimed to:
  1. Build facilitation and communication skills among Deaf Role Models.
  2. Strengthen understanding of inclusion, intersectionality, stigma, and lived experience.
  3. Introduce ethical and practical approaches to peer support.
  4. Prepare participants for school and community-based sensitization.
  5. Promote safe, respectful, and participatory peer-support spaces.
